What to Expect During the Evaluation Process

Whether you’re seeking an evaluation for yourself or your child, we want you to feel informed, comfortable, and supported every step of the way. At InnovED Psych Solutions, our process is designed to be clear, respectful, and tailored to the individual — because no two brains are exactly alike.

Here’s what you can expect:

1. Initial Intake & Consultation

We start with a conversation to understand your goals and concerns. For children, this includes a parent interview; for adults, we’ll talk directly with you.

We’ll ask about:

  • Developmental, educational, and medical history

  • Strengths and struggles at school, work, or in daily life

  • Your questions and goals for the evaluation

This step helps us personalize the evaluation so it’s meaningful and relevant to you.

2. Questionnaires & Rating Scales

You (and possibly a teacher, partner, or caregiver) will complete some forms that help us better understand day-to-day patterns of behavior, focus, learning, emotions, and interactions.

These tools help us gather input from multiple perspectives — because context matters.

3. Testing Sessions

We’ll schedule one or more testing sessions, depending on the type of evaluation and the individual’s age and stamina. These sessions may include:

  • Cognitive or intellectual testing

  • Academic achievement tests

  • Attention, memory, or executive functioning tasks

  • Language, visual, or motor skills assessments

  • Autism-specific or social-emotional measures, if relevant

We use evidence-based tools in a quiet, supportive environment. We offer breaks, flexible pacing, and a neurodivergent-affirming approach that respects each person’s communication and regulation needs.

Testing is never about passing or failing — it’s about understanding how you or your child learns best.

4. Observation & Interaction (if applicable)

For children, we may observe how they play, communicate, or interact in a structured or natural setting. For adults, we may explore how tasks feel, what strategies work best for you, and where you may need support.

This helps us connect the dots between testing results and real-world experiences.

5. Review of Records (if available)

We’ll review report cards, prior evaluations, IEPs/504s, or other relevant documentation to build a full picture.

This step helps us see progress over time and identify patterns or missed support opportunities.

6. Comprehensive Report & Feedback

Once testing is complete, you’ll receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report that includes:

  • A summary of results

  • Strengths and areas that need support

  • Clear, personalized recommendations for school, work, and daily life

We’ll meet with you to go over everything, answer your questions, and make sure you feel confident about the next steps.

This is where things come together — insight, validation, and a path forward.

Our Promise:  Whether the goal is clarity, self-understanding, school support, or a diagnostic clarification, our process is collaborative and empowering. We focus on what’s strong—not just what’s hard—and provide real solutions you can use.

Your Referral Matters

Submit a referral form below to connect children, adults, or families with the support they need. Please only complete this form if you are a provider/educator/etc. and not a parent/legal guardian of a potential patient you are looking to refer.
